Arlington Heights Home

This recent home rebuild left the property with grass as the only vegetation.  While the brick and stone home was impressive itself, plantings were a must to complete the rehab.  The added vegetation will frame and augment certain architectural aspects while scaling down others.  The limited plant palette provides a uniform and harmonious feel to the property, while still contributing a variety of highlights throughout all seasons.  The boxwood maintain a steady presence all year.  Springtime interest comes by way of the white showy flowers provided by a pear tree anchoring the corner of the home, along with the low lying ground cover that carpets the ground with purple flowers.  Attention shifts towards the perennials in summer, as daylilies front the boxwood, lavender colored sage flowers emerge from behind the shrubs, and ornamental grasses come forth and bloom later in the summer.  Focus shifts back towards the pear in the fall, as burgundy colored leaves persist very late in the season.  Additionally, the grasses subtly compliment the showy tree and have a presence all winter long.
